The Reptile's woes continue

A BT employee trying to sort out broadband ---->

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon. The Brainless Turds at BT have screwed up yet again. It would appear that despite having moved a mere 100m down the road, the task of transferring the Reptile's phone line and his broadband proved too much for those Benighted Turnipheads, and they have bumped the Reptile to the bottom of the queue again.

Apparently some guy is going to deal with this personally, so we should all be reassured that unless the Reptile is able to beg, borrow or steal some internet access in the meantime, he will be up and running some time next week...

I have to say that the Reptile, impeccably educated as he undoubtedly is, is displaying marked tendencies towards being a brainless turd himself.

"Harsh", you may counter. But I insist: only a brainless turd still uses BT for any - let alone all - of:
1) Line rental
2) calls
3) broadband

At best, I can see the case for 1), but definitely onetel under carrier preselect for 2) and plusnet for 3).

The other providers don't get paid until you are actually connected: they have considerably more clout with BT wholesale than you do with BT retail.

My advice would be to call those two (presumably the Reptile has a mobile?) and ask when they could connect him. then call BT back and say, "if I do not have a flawless connection in x days, I will take my business - that's ~£50 a month - elsewhere. Capice?"

Hurrah for unbundling!

Ah-ha! I note you have made the fatal mistake of assuming the Reptile has a mobile. The Reptile had a mobile, but sadly, it broke! I guess it's just not the Reptile's month for communications.

Well all I can say is "Many many many commiserations to the Reptile".

I must say that I sympathise with the effects that he is enduring, notwithstanding my gentle contempt for the cause.

He must be - as are we all - extremely glad to have a Token Bird to keep the Conservative Party supplied with reptilian comment in his (enforced) absence.

Toodle Pip!
